    Event Lead (Floral)

Amelia’s Flowers is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Events Lead (Floral) to help build, shape, and lead the next chapter of our event floral program.

This role is for someone who loves events, thrives under pressure, and wants to take ownership of the full lifecycle of event florals — from booking and planning to execution and breakdown. You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager and Owner while managing and mentoring our event team in the field.

If you’re excited by beautiful challenges, collaborative teamwork, and the opportunity to grow something meaningful, we’d love to meet you.

    About Amelia’s Flowers

We’re a flowers-for-everyone florist rooted in approachability, creativity, and connection. Our event work leans modern, whimsical, and asymmetrical, but most importantly, it’s tailored to each client’s vision. We welcome creative challenges and believe great events come from listening well, working together, and staying calm when things get busy.

We May Be For You If….

…You’re someone who finds joy in both creative problem-solving and getting things done. You’ve worked on event floral teams before, maybe leading installs, maybe assisting and somewhere along the way, you realized you wanted to take the reins and lead a team of your own. You love the rhythm of event days: early mornings, long installs, last-minute pivots, and you bring a calm, grounded presence even when things move quickly! You’re comfortable taking ownership, making decisions in the moment, and trusting your creative instincts, while still caring deeply about details and follow-through.

You enjoy leading collaboratively, knowing when to jump in and when to step back, and you communicate clearly and kindly with clients, planners, and teammates alike. You work well independently and stay self-motivated, but you also value teamwork and shared wins. You’re excited by the idea of helping shape and grow an event program over time, not just executing what already exists. This role may not be the best fit if you’re looking for a strictly 9–5 schedule, prefer highly predictable days, or are most comfortable working solo without leading others. But if you’re energized by hands-on work, evolving creative challenges, and building something meaningful alongside a team, you’ll likely feel right at home here.

    A Day in the Life

No two days look the same, but each one blends creative design, leadership, and logistics.

Some days begin in the studio reviewing event briefs, inspiration, and timelines, coordinating staffing needs, and preparing inventory. On install days, mornings often start early with truck loading, final checks, and heading on-site to lead the event team.

You’ll oversee installs from start to finish — delegating tasks, making real-time design decisions, communicating with planners and clients day-of, and ensuring each event feels thoughtful and polished. You’re hands-on throughout the process, balancing creativity with efficiency while keeping the team calm and focused.

Between events, you’ll help grow and strengthen our event program by booking new events, refining systems, training team members, and collaborating closely with the Operations Manager to continuously improve how events are executed at Amelia’s.

    • Book, plan, and manage event floral projects from start to finish

    Schedule & Structure

    • Part-time to start, with the intention of growing into a full-time leadership role

    • Weekends required

    • Hours will vary based on event schedule

    Compensation & Growth

    • Hourly to start. Rate dependent on experience

    • Overtime eligible

    • Commission opportunities tied to event bookings and growth

    • Transition to salaried role once full-time

    • Clear pathway to overseeing and leading our full event team

    • Health Benefits & PTO available when full-time

    What We’re Looking For

    • 2–5 years of floral design experience, specifically with events

    • Detail-oriented and organized

    • Physically resilient and comfortable with hands-on work

    Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Operations Manager and Owner and plays a key role in building and leading Amelia’s event team.

    Why This Role Matters

This isn’t just an install lead position — it’s an opportunity to build something. Our goal is for this role to grow into a full-time leadership position that oversees our event team and helps shape the future of Amelia’s Flowers’ event work.

    How to Apply

Please send your resume along with a short note answering the questions below to mattie@ameliasflowertruck.com using the subject line: Event Lead (Floral) Submission. Please note that incomplete submissions will not receive a response.

    1. Tell us about your experience working on event floral teams. What roles have you played, and what did you learn from them?

    2. What excites you most about leading a team during event installs?

    3. Describe an event day that felt especially successful to you. What made it work?

    4. What kind of work environment helps you do your best work and feel most supported?

    5. Tell us about a piece of feedback that stayed with you. How did you respond to it, and what did it change (if anything) about how you work?

    6. What makes you feel confident stepping into a role that includes booking events and helping grow a program? Where do you feel strongest, and where are you still learning?

    7. Hypothetical: You arrive on-site for an event install and realize one key floral element isn’t working as planned due to stem quality, quantity, or the space itself. The planner is arriving soon and the timeline is tight. Walk us through how you’d approach the situation.

    8. Hypothetical: During an event install, a client expresses that the flowers aren’t what they envisioned and feels disappointed. You’re on-site, the timeline is moving, and the planner is present. How would you handle the conversation and next steps?

We’re taking a thoughtful approach to filling this role and are looking for the right person, not just the next available one. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis between now and March 2026. If we feel your experience and approach may be a strong fit, someone from our team will be in touch within three weeks of receiving your submission.

Thank you for taking the time to apply and for your interest in being part of Amelia’s Flowers. We truly appreciate the care that goes into each application.
